What the Hell

 Where to begin in this madhouse we now live in? 

   Tens of thousands of federal employees losing their jobs with no notice due to Chainsaw Musk -- just an anonymous email sent without addressing them by name and without any exit interviews. (I've read that too many soulless people are happy about this egregious and just plain-out-mean act. I hope it happens to them . . . .)

   19-year-olds in charge of federal government departments (what's left of them) -- these kids have no life experience, little if any work experience, and no doubt spent all of their teen years playing video games and coding in mommy's basement. Musk apparently believes if you know how to code or whatever you are the best techie ever!

   Musk threatening Social Security and Medicare. What right does this unelected guy have to mess with the lives of millions of senior citizens and children/adults with disabilities? Tell this billionaire who bought himself an $288 million presidency and who has never had to worry about money to go back to South Africa and hang out with his lecherous daddy where they can both father a gazillion little Musk children together.

   Crushing tariffs that will most likely topple trade relations with other countries. Someone has to pay the higher costs associated with tariffs and you know damn well that will be the American consumer. And this will affect the middle and lower classes the hardest.

   Human beings ripped from their homes and shipped off to countries that may not even be their home countries. (Yes, MAGAs, we know they're here illegally but they are still human beings being treated worse than trash.)

   People being rounded up even if they have a green card or a current visa and hauled off to detention centers where some of them are treated like they're escaped mass murderers.

   Freedom of speech stomped on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't freedom of speech a right under the First Amendment of the US Constitution?

   College students threatened with expulsion and jail if they protest on campus. See the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

   ICE acting like the Gestapo. Did they read the "playbook" of the Nazis and the SS in WWII Germany?

   People being threatened if they say anything against "my Lord God Trump" (as one of his MAGA followers called him). 

   Arlington National Cemetery taking down any verbiage on its website that says Black, female, Hispanic, and Native American, in accordance with Trump's DEI rampage. 

   What I'm understanding about this maniacal obsession with the destruction of DEI is that if you are not a white heterosexual male in this Make America Great Again "law," you are nothing. You don't exist. It doesn't matter that you died for your country in wars outside the US. It doesn't matter that you served your country in ways that helped win the war. 

Are Trump, Vance, and our own Governor DeSantis trying to eliminate, expunge, and destroy half of the US population? White heterosexual males are not gods. They're just humans like everyone else on the planet. I saw a headline a while back that said scientists had discovered a new race of humans. Yeah, they're called Republicans.😒

In less than three months, Trump has managed to alienate and anger all of the US allies in Europe, and most notably, Canada and Greenland, all the while making love to his great pal Putin. Is the US to become a subsidiary of Russia? Will the US become the "51st state" for Putin? Where the hell is Congress? Why are they doing nothing? Because they are afraid of physical threats from the rabid MAGA crowd and of Trump firing them (and worse)?

I am afraid of Trump, Musk and Vance. I am afraid of the government in my own country. I wasn't alive during WWII, but I imagine this is how Nazi Germany began -- with a megalomaniac leader and fanatical believers who got their power from the doomsday fear of the populace. Shut 'em up, run 'em over, stomp on 'em, and kill those who stand up for democracy, humanity, and justice. 

Is this why so many elected leaders and everyday citizens are afraid of Trump? He is not a god; he's just an old man with delusions of grandeur who tells lies to get his way and to pump up his overinflated ego. I don't understand the fear, even if I feel it. I don't understand why everyone in both houses of Congress won't stand up and say NO. I don't understand why our military leaders don't stand up and say NO. No doubt, it's probably because Trump has entrenched his MAGA cronies in every corner of the government. Maybe there aren't enough level-headed leaders to stand up and say NO. Maybe the US is just going to fall apart -- and who will be there to pick up the pieces? The Lord God Trump. He will save us all from the destruction he wrought and crown himself a savior.

I just read that Columbia University capitulated to Trump's threat to withhold over $400 million in federal funding. Now the university administration must empower law enforcement on campus, ban masks, change its admission policies (I can imagine who is not going to be admitted into Columbia now), and place its Middle Eastern Studies Department under academic oversight. 

What is happening to the freedom that a democracy bestows on Americans? Isn't our freedom why so many outsiders want to come to the US, even if it's done illegally? Well, I guess Trump et al will be happy soon -- no one will want to come here, not even to visit.

 

I wonder if my friend who voted for Trump is happy now that her country is on its way to becoming "great again," even as she watches the freedoms and privileges Americans are used to and so enamored about are currently being stomped on by Republican leaders with no sense of humanity. 

We can only hope that the real God (if there is one because right now it sure doesn't feel like it) can save us, but maybe it's the fate of United States to explode, implode, and die. All great civilizations eventually fall from greatness, and another one arises to take the ultimate place. China, anyone?
