Lost and Likin' It!

Went on a day trip yesterday with my friend Diane. We got lost trying to find Mt. Dora on some back roads. Like men, we refused to ask for directions and we continued to interpret a crazy map and eventually, by some dumb luck, we finally found the town and had a great time walking around, enjoying the ambience, eating lunch in a very British cafe, window shopping, and buying a couple of things. It was perfect weather too - not too hot and no rain. Around 5:30pm we decided to drive around in some of the neighborhoods surrounding the town (which has become much more touristy than it was 10-15 years ago). Cute bungalows, upper-scale homes, little ranch houses...and then we tried to find our way home even though we had no idea where we were and in what direction we were going. About 2 hours later we finally found Rte. 50 and we followed that home, driving through Clermont which is very hilly - doesn't look like Florida at all. We had a great time, and getting lost is kinda fun because you see things that you normally wouldn't if you were driving on the "big" roads. Now, this may not be a mountain-climbing adventure but it was a mighty fine day trip for a couple of women who had to share a pair of broken eye glasses to see any printed material, including that crazy map!
