Hurricane Blues

Stop with the hurricanes, tropical storms, no-name storms, etc.! Don't wanna be threatened anymore. Just want to live in peace and harmony...or was that the '60s? My homeowner's insurance is already outrageous - don't need no storm makin' it go higher, know what I mean? A neighbor of mine is from Taiwan. There's no insurance over there. If someone's house is destroyed, the extended family comes together to help the family member(s) in need. Of course, here in the U.S., that's more difficult so we have to depend on the government and the insurance companies and the lawyers to get what we need.

Well, I'm outta here, literally and figuratively. Florida feels so convoluted, so fractured. There's a certain kind of "fog" here that is lacking in progressive thinking. No one seems to be concerned about the future. Do we honestly think we can continue to take and take and asphalt and build over everything and not pay any consequences? Tell that to the Florida panther.
